* Beteta

This picturesque small town is situated 50 kilometres to the north of the city of Cuenca and is at the heart of some extensive natural habitat in which orchids are plentiful. The terrain is hilly and predominantly a combination of scrub and woodland with areas of light cultivation. All the roads that radiate from the town are worthy of exploration.  Ophrys sphegodes, Ophrys apifera, Ophrys castellana, Ophrys lutea, Ophrys scolopax, Dactylorhiza insularis, Anacamptis champagneuxii, Orchis tenera.


* Masegosta

From Betata take the CM-210 and after a little under 2 kilometres take the CM2201 towards Masegosta. This road travels through a mixture of scrub and light woodland and is home to several species of orchid.
Ophrys sphegodes, Ophrys apifera, Ophrys bilunulata, Ophrys lutea, Ophrys arnoldii, Anacamptis champagneuxii, Orchis cazorlensis, Orchis langeii, Orchis anthropophora, Orchis mascula .


La Cuidad Encantada

This popular geological site is to be found some 20 kilometres north of Cuenca and consists of an area of crumbling limestone that has formed curious freestanding rock formations. The site itself and the surrounding countryside is rich orchid country and particularly the woodlands that flank the CM-2104 to the north of the site.
Ophrys fusca, Ophrys bilunulata, Ophrys arnoldii, Ophrys lutea, Orchis mascula, Orchis langeii Orchis anthropophora, Orchis cazorlensis, Neotinea maculata.                  

 
* Area Recreativa De Los lagunillos

From Las Majadas take the CM-9113 north and after approximately 10 kilometres you will come to a bridge across the Rio Escabas and a parking area. The surrounding woodland contains many species of orchid and particularly along the track that runs for about a kilometre up to the recreation area.
Ophrys arnoldii, Ophrys lutea, Orchis tenera, Orchis mascula, Cephalanthera longifolia, Anacamptis champagneuxii, Dactlorhiza elata.      


* Monumento Natural del Nacimento del Rio Cuervo

From the town of Tragacete take the CM-2106 northwards and after some 10 kilometres you will find this popular tourist attraction sign-posted to your right. From the car park a boarded walk takes you to the series of beautiful hillside cascades that reward a visit in their own right. The wooded areas that surround the site are rich in orchids and offer a wide range of species.
